THE POLICE DEPARTMENT DUNK TANK

Last updated July 06, 2007

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE

Starting in 2003 the police department began renting a dunk tank for the Independence day celebration.  Over the past two years the police  department has been unable to obtain the dunk tank because in 2005 the tank was damage in an automobile accident the day before we had reserved it.  The following year the tank was sold by the owner, around a month before Independence  Day celebration.  The department was not notified of the sale of the tank, which had been reserved since January of 2006.

With this in mind,  the police department wanted to insure that we would have the tank for the Independence Day celebration, from this point on.

So in February 2007 Chief Matt Dennis began a fund raiser to purchase a dunk tank.  The goal of $3515 was reached on June 6th, 2007.  We would like to thank everyone that donated to the dunk tank fund. B&M Heating and Air, Kistlers Service Station, Wheat State Dynamic N.C. Women's Auxiliary,  Inter-skate 77 & Everyone in and around the community who donated.
